The walk of May 11th will be called “The Garden of the Lord”. This corresponds to a Botanical Garden which is located in St-Triphon in the municipality of Ollon. This botanical garden was created by a Christian gardener and is still maintained by this Christian gardener! He is 82 years old. The gardener is a man passionate about the Bible and botany. The Bible and botany together: perfectly consistent and compatible! The gardener is of a uncommon wisdom. The garden has a rich diversity of flora and the natural scenery is enchanting. We can visit it and at the same time ask questions or ask the gardener for advice! After that, we can visit the historic Tower of St. Triphon, or a dungeon of a castle. Neither or this is far from the botanical garden.
The nearest parking place is Rue de l’Ancien Collège 21-19, 1867 Ollon (it’s 10 minutes walk from the Garden). The drive from Renens is around 50 minutes. The walk is not very demanding in terms of physical fitness. It is accessible even for elderly people. The walk takes place regardless of the weather. As usual, we’ll have a privilege to be guided by Denis Desvoignes. The event is organized by the French church, and we are happy to join them.
We’ll eat our picnic (everyone brings his or her own lunch; it may be a good idea to bring some extra food to share) at Avenue du 14eme avril 26, 1020 Renens at 12:15PM. The plan is to depart for the botanical garden at 1PM from the same address. Please contact us if you need transportation.
