Excursion to Château-d’Oex

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed the summer. We are happy to announce our day trip to Château-d’Oex on Sabbath, August 15th from 10:30AM to 5PM. We will meet at 10:30AM at the parking in front of Brendan’s house, which is in route de Saanen 71, Chateau-d’Oex. You will spot it easily as it is collocated with a restaurant named McCarthy’s “Lord of the Burgers”.

Program:

• 10:30AM: We depart from Brendan’s place to our worship place in nature. Shannon will have a children story, Brendan will prepare some songs, and Samuel will share with us the Word of God.
• 12PM: Lunch
• 2PM: We’ll go for a hike in beautiful surroundings of Château-d’Oex. There will be two options:
  • a walk next to the river: it is an easy walk accessible to all, and
  • a moderate hike up the mountain. There may be a possibility to see mountain goats
• 5PM: Farewell & Departure.

To bring with you:

• Lunch and/or something to put on the grill. To reduce the risk of Covid-19, everyone is invited to bring her or his own lunch.
• Walking shoes.

Transportation. Please tell us if you have extra space in your car, or if you need transportation. If you are looking for transportation, please register soon, as we will prioritize those people that registered first! You can also take a train: there is train departing from Renens at 9:08AM and arriving at Chateau-d’Oex at 10:43AM. If you are taking the train, please let us know, so that we can organize somebody to pick you up from the train station.
