Sunday:

Children. The snow weekend is children-friendly: last year we had around 10 children, and this year we expect roughly the same number of them. The children will enjoy a children story during the worship on Sabbath morning, and they will have an opportunity to sing or play an instrument (if you want your child to sing/play, please let us know to make it part of the program). During the sermon, children can color something (we will provide something related to the children story, but you have to provide coloring pens for your children).

Translation to other languages. We will provide translation to French using translation headphones. Translation to German will also be provided.

Accommodation. Please visit the accommodation website. We will stay at Le Grand Chalet. The chalet is equipped with piano, projector and sound system.

Food. We will provide the food for all the meals, except for Sabbath lunch when we will have a potluck (everyone is invited to bring something to eat/drink). We will have potluck in order to a) keep the cost for the weekend low and b) enjoy variety of high-quality food from all over the world. For breakfasts, we will bring bread and bread toppings and cereals. If you are allergic to gluten, please bring gluten-free bread. We’ll provide vegan soup for Friday night, fruits for Sabbath afternoon and pizzas for Saturday evening. No need to bring plates or cups, as the kitchen is fully furnished. It’s also worth nothing that there is a Coop near the chalet (3 minutes by foot) which is open 7 days a week 8AM-7PM. Still, the Snow Weekend schedule is quite tight, so we recommend buying food beforehand.

Transportation. Please tell us if you have extra space in your car, or you need transportation. If you are looking for transportation, please register soon, as we’ll prioritize those people that registered first! If you are coming by car, winter tires are mandatory. Whereas, snow chains are necessary only if the weather is really bad (normally, the road is cleaned regularly). If you are coming by train, and if you plan the trip in advance, you may obtain cheaper, so-called Super Saver tickets. The train station in Les Diablerets is only 550m away from the chalet.

Rooms. Each guest is assigned a room, which you can check on the bulletin board in the chalet. Make sure to turn on the heating in the room when you enter it, and turn the heating off when you leave the room. Ladies, please use showers on the 1st floor. The showers on the 2nd floor are for gentlemen.

Price & Payment. For adults, the price is 50CHF per person if you stay at least one night in the chalet, and 25CHF for Saturday only (no overnight stay). The children aged 9 to 12 pay half the price, and those under 9 are free of charge. If you would love to come, but you cannot afford the full prize, we have a certain number of places for you. Please contact us directly. We offer 3 modes of payment: via e-banking (payment to an account), via TWINT, or in cash on the spot. Upon registration, you were asked to be added to our WhatsApp group. The detailed instructions will be shared there. If you are not part of the WhatsApp group, and you would like to pay electronically, please contact us. Please also plan the costs for sledging/skiing/thermal baths on Sunday.

To bring with you. Our chalet provides pillows, pillowcases and blankets. You must bring your own sheets (fitted sheet + top sheet) or sleeping bags. The chalet can rent us maximum 20 pairs of sheets (fitted sheet + top sheet) for 8CHF per pair. Regarding food, please bring a dish for the Sabbath lunch. Also, please bring your favorite board games/jigsaw puzzles. For snow activities (hiking, sledging, skiing), it’s good to have appropriate boots and waterproof clothes. In case we go for thermal baths, please bring a swimming suit. Please also bring sleepers (house shoes). Finally, bring your health insurance card with you, and make sure you have “L’assurance responsabilité civile”.
